This weekend
Last night, Coda, Slope, Lucky, Ian and I opened the ElectriCafe. Afterwards came Tim Ross (who is an extremely talented guitarist) and then Tisdale, a very good local band. Our performance was quite good I thought, for being a thrown-together last minute affair. Undoubtedly, we could've sounded better, and I did want to sound better, but there is always what-ifs and they never accomplish much.
We had decided after our last performance (which was just Slope and I), that we might like to wear suits next time. Just to be different, we did this time. I'll have to see if Dex can get a decent recording of us onto a computer.
Then this morning the Webb Society went to the Gregg County Historical Museum. I got to put on a pair of cotton gloves and handle all kinds of old office supplies. Yellowed receipts, a letter from 1888, a financial ledger from 1936. It was a neat visit. The Museum needs all sorts of help with electronically databasing their collection, so we cataloged one of the exhibits in our 2 and a half hour visit. Afterwards, the museum worker who directed us took us accross the street to a small Mexican restaurant.
We had a nice time. Their son (named LeGrand) was a brilliant little 10-year old who could spit out riddles and VeggieTales songs faster than my mind could listen to them.
And now it's the weekend. Happy. You know it's been a busy week, when studying for a test and a 2500-word paper over the weekend counts as "relaxing." Tata! :D
